1. Am I going to be able to use any provider, or is an HMO required?
2. Will I be covered for visits to the emergency room without getting approval first? What are the necessary steps that I must take in the event of any emergency health situation?
3. Will I have access to low cost or free health coverage at an on-campus clinic?
4. Are there any pre-existing conditions that are excluded from the health coverage?
5. Will I have health coverage during the summer months? What if I am not enrolled in classes during the summer months?
Keep in mind if you have children or other dependents, getting a student health insurance quote may not be the most practical choice for you. You may find better options with a group health insurance plan (offered through your employer or an association with which you are affiliated) or with an individual health insurance plan. If you are still covered under you’re a parent’s health insurance plan, you may not be interested in purchasing a student health insurance plan; however, sometimes simply getting a student health insurance quote may prove to offer more affordable, or even additional, health coverage. Shop around and research several companies from which you can purchase student health insurance. For a full-time college or university student, every penny counts. Make sure you are getting the best health coverage for you at the most affordable price.
